This ancient earthenware dish is decorated with a bird painted in polychromy. This rectangular plate is signed "boch frères" for the la louviere manufacture in belgium. This japanese peacock decoration is hand-painted: it depicts a bird ready to fly a few berries on a bush or a bonzai. This dish measures 20x21 cm. I point out traces of use and a crack in the hollow of the plate. It bears an old label "elka strasbourg", it was actually the old spring store of strasbourg which was called "grande galerie" before the war and became elka for "elsässisches kaufhaus strassburg" during the second world war. It therefore dates from the 1940s.
