This is a beautiful original 1950s opaline glass ceiling light, complete with wiring, brass gallery, bulb holder and brass ceiling cup. The glass, which hangs like a handkerchief, is white on the inside and mottled blue on the outside. It is decorated with charming little line drawings of buildings, including a water mill and another that resembles a small castle. A water mill and another resembling a small castle. A floral pattern surrounds the designs of the buildings, which are colored in red, yellow and blue. The word czechoslovakia is written on the top, which means czechoslovakia in english. So it must have been made in what is now the czech republic (or perhaps slovakia), but it was made for the french market. An adorable vintage lighting solution, which would look wonderful in any vintage style room. It's an ideal gift for anyone who loves 1950s design and would make a great prop for any production set in the mid-20th century. In excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks to the glass shade and the brass shows only minor signs of age. As you can see, it's currently in working order, but since you'll need a professional electrician or confident diyer to attach it to your desired location, it will be up to them to make it work. Please view all photos and remember it is at least 60 years old and has been used in the past. Approximate measurements of the glass shade: width - 20cm height - 12cm total height with current wiring - 44cm it accepts one b22 bayonet base bulb (not included).
