Wooden indoor boules game, 1950s
Maison Lecan presents this salon ball game, the tabletop version of the gambling game found in French casinos. The square frame is made of dark wood. In the light wood bowl, the numbers 1 to 9 are painted twice using a stencil. In the centre, a metal cup holds its blue enamelled cells, and the wooden ball comes to rest in one of them. You launch the ball, wait, and either lose or win. The principle hasn't changed in a century and it still provides great amusement. On the side, a small brass plaque bears the letters "JAL". It is sold as is, with the marks of a game that has been played: scuffs on the frame and oxidation on the central cup. On a coffee table or a shelf, it serves as a decorative object, but it won't stay untouched for long before someone plays with it. Dimensions: Length 30 cm, Depth 30 cm, Height 4 cm. Ref LDP: 2025-FW43C.
