Two-tier rolling dessert cart in Louis XVI style, wood & brass, 19th century.
Elegant two-tiered rolling serving cart in Louis XVI style, likely dating from the 19th century. The two rectangular trays with rounded corners are highlighted by a double line of gilded brass and feature a black lacquered edge. The four corners of the upper tray are adorned with circular brass medallions. The structure is supported by four pairs of fluted turned columns, with finely crafted capitals and shafts, resting on tapered fluted feet fitted with solid brass casters with rubber wheels, functional and period-appropriate. The wood, with pronounced grain—mahogany or rosewood—displays a beautiful natural patina. The surfaces of the trays show scratches and signs of wear consistent with the age of the piece, without detracting from its charm or sturdiness. A practical and decorative mobile serving cart that fits well in both classic interiors and decor that blends old and contemporary styles. Dimensions: H. 82 cm × W. 73 cm × D. 44 cm — Weight: 8 kg.
