Old ballot box, solid wood chest

Here is a very beautiful voting urn, antique, made of beautifully patinated wood, which can of course serve as an urn to receive donations and messages at a wedding, as an original bedside table to hide your little treasures, or simply as an original storage box. It is made entirely of solid, thick wood, covered in light grey paint and features a slot on the lid, two hinges at the back, and two lovely metal clasps that can accommodate a padlock. I believe it is a genuine voting urn, from before the advent of transparent urns. It probably dates from the first half of the 20th century. It can be used as is in a wabi-sabi or shabby chic spirit or be refurbished. It is in generally good condition, very sturdy, with no corrosion on the metal parts, but it does not hide the many signs that testify to its age: various marks and stains, missing paint, a few old and inactive woodworm holes, and a pin stuck in the lid. It measures 34 cm by 24 cm with a height of 27 cm.
