Old bird cage in carved wood and wicker

Period: ca. Late 19th – early 20th. This is truly a unique piece and a beautiful decorative object in itself. The rectangular cage is adorned with richly carved and openwork floral and rinse motifs on all four sides and upper parts. The swing door is also beautifully carved. The sides of the cage and the domed top are made of wicker. I believe that wood is a kind of fruit wood. Inside there is a perch attached to two bamboo drinkers. Personally, I think that this cage should be limited to its decorative function and not be used for real birds (it is fragile and the drinkers are not held in a sturdy way), also the hanging hook is not strong enough to hold a lot of weight. I cannot vouch for the origin and the period. After comparative research, this cage could be of english victorian origin (from the end of the 19th century) or indonesian. The cage is visibly old. The cage has been restored in various places. State: Good but restored. The end where the hook is attached has been glued and re-sculpted and therefore remains a weak point (please avoid a lot of weight). One of the carved corners was replaced by a recreated wood composite molding (see photo) and another corner was repaired (see photo). The wicker work is in good condition. The exterior has been cleaned and waxed.
