Alabaster vase

This pretty alabaster vase decorated with hand-carved patterns around the high rim and on the belly will add a very elegant classic touch to an interior. It is an ecru and cloudy white color. It may date from the 60s or 70s and could come from Andalusia (though not certain). It is rather heavy (1.6 kg) and very stable, so it will be able to receive a good-sized bouquet. It is in good general condition, no cracks or chips, but has 3 or 4 dark spots, original defects in the stone and rare small abrasions or scratches, almost invisible. Small tip found on the web but not tried: it can be cleaned with turpentine to give it more shine and remove any possible yellowing. It measures 24 cm in height, 15 cm in maximum diameter, 9.5 cm in diameter at the opening at the top.
