This pair of vintage wooden and skai chairs was produced by steiner (paris) in the early 1950s and designed by the famous dutch designer, wilhelm von bode. On each chair, the base is worked into a solid folded piece of ash. The seats and backs are covered with white skai. A brass ring, the only attachment point, joins the base and back, to ensure the flexibility and comfort of the sitting position. Both chairs bear the label of the original manufacturer and have been fully restored (details below): the surface of the wooden structure has been sanded and re-greened. The seats and backs have been covered with new skai/vinyl. The old horsehair has been replaced by a new foam (hr 42, high strength). The old original springs have been replaced by new straps. To provide more comfort, but also to preserve and maintain the integrity and vintage look of the chairs. A new upholstery fabric has been added under the chairs ' brass rings and screws remain original and have not been replaced. These parts bear an attribution mark of the manufacturer. These pieces are a well-known design that is well documented in the literature of furniture. Style: vintage, art deco, design classics. Detailed status: very good - these vintage items have no defects, but may show slight traces of use. Skate and light wear in accordance with age and use. Seat height: 46 cm the price is for the pair.
