Pierre vandel is a french designer with international success, born in 1939. He founded his first high-end furniture workshop and then his brand "pierre vandel-paris". His avant-garde vision and inventiveness that is both glamorous and minimalist seduce all over the world. His creations please. This coffee table and this end of sofa are no exception. They are composed, for the table, of a double frame of square section and a simple frame for the end of the sofa. The ecru-coloured lacquered metal structures are assembled in miter section and inlaid in the centre and on the sides of a slightly recessed brass band bearing the signature "pierre vandel-paris". The top of the coffee table is protected by a glass pane composed of two sheets of glass joined together that trap a coating in its center. This prisoner element reveals by transparency the unbleached shade of the furniture. The top of the sofa end is a natural and transparent glass slightly beveled. This furniture rests on a rectangular grooved metal base. During his career, pierre vandel has tormented the codes, revisited and reinvented the use of furniture, this coffee table and this end of sofa are real collector's items. ******** Era: 1970.
