Vintage tea cabinet Japan 1950 - Chadansu -

This tea cabinet (chadansu) is made of burl veneer. Work around 1950, in art deco spirit - Uprights in medlar wood. Left side moving shelf in s (poetic allusion to the steam coming out of a tea kettle). Veneer front - two sliding glass doors - we note a combination of shelves, drawers, curved doors. The joints of the uprights are rounded into dovetails. The furniture is fully doweled. Circa 1950 - style inspired by European art deco. We talk about the “taisho roman” style, equivalent to “roaring twenties”. Condition: numerous scratches, scratches, stains, wear on surfaces and edges. Varnish wear.
