Magnificent large oyster or shellfish dish signed cérenne and made in vallauris in the 1950s is a true ceramic treasure. Diameter: 35 cm height: 4 cm weight: approximately 2 kg the black bottom of the dish is decorated with marine motifs, fish, crabs, starfish and octopus. The whole thing is very colorful and evokes the atmosphere of the french coasts. Atelier cerenne was a ceramic creation workshop active in vallauris between 1945 and 1958. Founded by charles rené neveux, it takes its name from the contraction of its company name, “céramique rené neveux”. At its peak, the workshop employed around 50 people and had 15 decorators. Its production ranged from utilitarian ceramics to unique pieces, with special orders for french and international clients. There were also pieces of furniture with ceramic decoration.
