This Danish teak bed, designed by Hans J. Wegner for Getama in the 1960s, exemplifies the master’s approach to furniture as both sculpture and function. Crafted from solid teak and teak veneer, the piece embodies the warmth, precision, and timeless balance that define Wegner’s collaboration with Getama. The headboard is upholstered in a way that contrasts with the grain and color variation of the wood. The bed rests on tapered legs, giving it a light, floating appearance despite its robust construction. Its minimal design allows it to blend seamlessly with both vintage and contemporary interiors. Additional dimensions: Mattress suggested size 200 X 80 cm. Ground clearance 26 cm. The bed was fully renovated. The teak surface has been carefully cleaned with professional compounds and finished with several layers of oil. The old vinyl upholstery and the foam of the headboard have been replaced with natural blue wool. The rungs on the bed have been replaced with new, strong ones for long usage.
