Designed by Nisse Strinning between the 1950s and 1960s, the “BFB-hyllan” wall shelving unit represents one of the evolutions of the Scandinavian modular systems developed around the String aesthetic. The white lacquered metal side panels support mahogany shelves and an integrated drawer, defined by light proportions and refined joinery details. Original “String” and “BFB-hyllan Stockholm Sweden” labels are present. The balance between the metal structure and the wooden surfaces reflects the functional minimalism of mid-century Swedish design. Good conditions. It may show signs of age.
