Red pompom totem vase - Cassandre Bouilly

I make them in chamotte red sandstone using the modeling technique. Each vase is unique and made entirely by hand, so they may vary slightly from the visual. The vases are glazed on the inside with a shiny transparent enamel. The exterior is left raw to keep the texture and natural color of the earth. The pompoms are made with cotton thread. Approximate measurements: Height 19 cm and Diameter 4 cm Installed in her workshop in Nantes, Cassandre shapes utilitarian objects with imperfect beauty. His work is at the crossroads of contemporary art and craftsmanship. In a minimalist and refined style, the ceramist meticulously models stoneware pieces one by one where the earth is often left raw. Each ceramic is an invitation to travel through its color, shapes and textures.
