Set of two chrome metal by the architects of Centro Studi for Matteo Grassi in the 1960s. These seats, with their refined design, have a tubular chrome metal structure. The back and seat are covered in thick tan leather. They are stitched with saddle stitch, a two-needle sewing technique, very popular because it is the strongest. Each folder is stamped 'Matteo Grassi'. We will highlight the presence under these armchairs of two metal hoops with screw threads. They allow you to quickly and easily adjust the tension of the leather and therefore the firmness of the seat. Note that the latter seems suspended, thanks to the absence of vertical feet at the rear. This design, in addition to bringing an airy spirit to these seats, also offers the advantage of providing flexibility: they adapt to the position and shape of the user. With their original curves, these four Matteo Grassi armchairs brilliantly combine comfort and timeless design. They were originally ordered by the company Brown Boverie & Cie for their French headquarters in Nanterre. ******** Period: 1960 Original condition with normal traces of age.
