Victoria Ware Ironstone refresher

Large victoria ware ironstone 56 cm refresher. Victoria ware ironstone were manufactured in the 1920s as replicas of those of the nineteenth century. These blue transfer items have been made in 2 styles: Blue willow which refers to a motif based on a chinese love story featuring lovers on a bridge. Staffordshire or historical blue features motifs based on important landmarks, scenes from history and commemorative events. This double-handled refresher (planter or centerpiece) belongs to the historic blue style, and features an iconic scene on either side of this room, including the interior. A truly impressive and very decorative piece ready to be exhibited and/or added to a collection.
