Bucolic scenes

Set of an oval dish and a “grindley england” compote bowl, scenes after constable. The dish is illustrated with a country scene and subtitled "noon after constable". The compotier is illustrated on its lid (river with a bridge, boat) with the legend "river stour, suffolk after constable" and the interior of the compotier with a scene of a lock keeper activating the mechanism and captioned "a boot passing a lock after constable"... The two elements are surrounded by a garland in shades of green. A single chip on the back of the dish not visible during use. Ideal set for cottage decoration.
