Small zoomorphic cup in chamotte clay, white glazed, representing a cow, melted decoration of stylized flower in the bottom of the cup. France, vallauris, circa 1960, thiry (unsigned: utility objects are generally not signed). Very good state. Albert thiry (1923-2009), who arrived in vallauris at a very young age, spent his school holidays in the ceramic workshops. From 1956, he worked for six years as a decorator for claire and rené batigne who ran the carpet workshop. Vert. Then, with his wife pyot gavaudan (who previously worked at the giraud workshops as a decorator and model maker) they created their own workshop in 1961.
