Period: ca. 1930-1950. This pair of bedside tables with simple but elegant lines would fit into many interior styles. Square in shape with rounded corners, they are halfway between Art Deco and mid-century design. They are veneered in mahogany and have thin sycamore protruding bands. Round knobs pull the drop-leaf doors. The interiors are in sycamore. These pieces of furniture are by De Coene Frères and come from the Jcqueline collection. De Coene frères were a company renowned for their high quality Art Deco furniture which is highly sought after. Their workshops were based in Kortrijk, Belgium and the company existed between 1887 and 1976. They can be found in the 1948 catalogue (pictured). These bedside tables have been authenticated by Mr Noel Hostens, expert and archivist of De Coene furniture in Kortrijk. Condition: good. Minor signs of wear (scratch marks). Pieces of veneer missing from the back of one of the tables. Dimensions: 48 cm wide, 32.5 cm deep, 52.5 cm high, 9 kg SHIPPING will be done in two individual packages.
