Blue ashtray from the "Akva" series by Per Lütken for Holmegaard

This iconic series launched in 1953 is famous for its asymmetrical and heavy glass work. The base is exceptionally thick, creating spectacular light refraction effects. The inscription: Under the polished pontil, a fine engraving with a diamond point indicates "Holmegaard." The monogram and date: The monogram "PL" is superimposed on the production year "1959." The iconic colour: This model features the original translucent sapphire/aquatic blue hue of the Akva collection, beautifully playing on the thickness of the glass to create intense blue gradients in the corners and on the edges.
