A napkin holder from the 1950s, made at the Bolesław Morawski Glassworks in Radomsko, is an example of collectible Art Deco craftsmanship in its Polish edition. The construction is based on a solid, hexagonal base of pressed glass, enriched with a subtle salmon shade and a warm, golden sheen. The semi-transparent pane combines shiny and matte fragments, allowing light to scatter effectively on the geometric embossing and radiating decorative motifs characteristic of Art Deco. Both sides of the napkin holder are adorned with carefully crafted patterns, and the faceted edges and profiled finishes create an impression of optical depth. The whole piece is in very good condition, with no damage, chips, or visible signs of repair, maintaining authenticity and the distinctive technique of pressed glass. This item tells the story of the mid-20th century – a time when simplicity and decorativeness formed a clear order. Its semi-transparent structure seems to catch the rays of the morning sun, refracting them on the edges like a kaleidoscope from the era. The glass, embossed with geometric forms, evokes an era of faith in progress, everyday elegance, and the gentle optimism of post-war Poland. Even the subtle tonal nuances and matte surface direct thoughts to old tables – where detail and light played as important a role as utility. The napkin holder will fit best in a dining room or living room in the spirit of the 1950s and 60s, especially surrounded by classic wood, porcelain dishes, or glass from the era. It can be paired with minimalist ceramics, chrome candlesticks, or a silver-plated table, creating a subdued, sophisticated arrangement. It will also work as a detail on a console in an eclectic interior, emphasizing the collector's character of the space. A good solution would also be to combine it with warm, slightly muted textile colours and single vintage decorations.
