Description
Sommerso glass vase made by the italian publisher seguso vetri d'arte produced in murano in the 1960s. Its designer flavio poli (1900 - 1984) worked the submerged glass technique, with 4 transparent layers, light blue, royal blue, green and colorless. In very good shape. For the record: sommerso or “submerged” in italian is a murano glass manufacturing technique consisting of creating two or more layers of contrasting glass without the colors mixing. It is formed by dipping colored glass into molten glass of a different color, before blowing the glass into the required shape. During the 1950s, this sommerso style became famous thanks to the work of flavio poli, artistic director of seguso vetri d'arte at that time.
