Beautiful oil on canvas by marius hubert-robert entitled "in the sun the small farm" representing a provencal landscape with two characters on a path at the foot of a farm (typical house of provence), Marius hubert-robert (paris 1885 - nice 1966) was an orientalist painter and illustrator. He exhibited at the salon des indépendants in 1929, at the artistes français, at the société nouvelle des beaux arts, at the salon d'hiver. Painter of the 10th army during the war 1914-18, marius hubert robert donated 2 of his war works to the musée du luxembourg. Other major exhibitions include: Paris, galerie charpentier " de l'alaska à la terre de feu " (1926); " sous le signe du soleil, afrique du nord" (1928); " the mediterranean basin" (1931); galerie petit, hôtel de la duchesse de rohan, galerie mona lisa in paris; London: the mansion house, alpin club; Usa: new york, washington, boston, philadelphia, new orleans, chicago, detroit, san francisco, los angeles, portland, seattle, cleveland, buffalo; Canada: quebec city, montreal, ottawa, toronto, winnipeg, calgary, edmonton, vancouver, victoria; Brazil: rio de janeiro; Argentina: buenos aires, rosario de santa fe. In addition, exhibitions in athens, zurich, munich, algiers and beirut. He was sponsored for ten years by the astor family, which allowed him to make many trips around the world, including the united states and canada, but also in africa (morocco and egypt), greece and indochina. He also collaborated with the newspaper "l'illustration" (around 1930-1938).
