Description
This pretty old teapot is made of pewter. In a classic style, the pewter took up the codes of goldsmithing. Called "poor man's silverware", pewter items were polished to provide the same shine as silver. The edges of the teapot are scalloped. It has a blackened wooden handle and rests on 4 small rockery feet. This teapot dates from the 19th century. I point out visible traces of use (dents, scratches and deformation) and traces of oxidation. It measures 32 cm X 18.5 cm.
