Side table

This is a side table (or guéridon / bedside table) in the Louis XV style (or Louis XV revival, often from the 19th or early 20th century). Main characteristics: • Top: red marble veined with white (probably a breccia or red marble from Languedoc / red breccia). • Edge: beautiful carved wooden moulding with a "rosary" or twisted bead pattern all around. • Legs: curved (in an S shape, typical of the Louis XV rococo style), with decorative carvings. • Undershelf: a small lower wooden shelf (often called a "stretcher" or shelf) for placing objects. • Material: light wood (probably beech, walnut, or stained oak), natural finish.
