Portrait of a young woman, signed H Mouthier (1880-1975) and dated 1907

Very pretty portrait, oil on canvas, representing a young woman in a black dress, wearing a jewel on her neck and earrings. The artist wanted to bring out here, I think, her rather melancholic air or perhaps she was shy to pose for a painter. The painting is signed lower left h moutier and dated 1907: hippolyte moutier (1880-1975) is a painter mainly specialized in landscape and still life painting, much more rarely portraits. This painting is framed in a magnificent molded frame, carved with foliage, acanthus leaves and stylized friezes. Condition: the painting is in perfect condition, except for a small stretch of the canvas at the top left. As for the frame, it has two small gaps in the corners at the top (not visible when hanging), some traces of cracks from use and you can see old restorations appearing on the corners when zooming in.
