Large old moldavian rug with big roses, made by hand in romnia about 60-70 years ago. Big red roses, a bit faded colors because the touch of the time but still in good shape, ready to be part of an eclectic decor with a touch of vintage. It is made on a cotton base with wool yarn handwoven in the loom, using the traditional techniques of weaving. Found in a village in suceava country, moldova area, romania. In romania, years ago, every mom handmade for her daughters beautiful carpets and rugs as dot for their weddings. I grown up with this: every winter, at my grandmother' s house, women from the village, neighbors and relatives, spend the evenings and those long winter nights together, working on beautiful wool rugs or other handmade items. Nowadays the art of handcrafting rugs is almost extinguished. Now, we are trying to discover and put into the modern design context these beauties. This is our story.
