Description
Gyokusendō workshop. Hammered copper vase inlaid with stylized silver dandelion motifs. Signed under the base. Second half of the 20th century. Japan. The gyokusendō workshop has a history of more than 200 years. Founded in 1816 in tsubame, niigata prefecture, by tamagawa kakubei, it is particularly famous for its pieces made using a technique of hammering a metal plate using various instruments until the shape of the desired piece is obtained.
