This remarkable Sputnik "Atomium" chandelier is a typical example of mid-century modern design from the space age. By the famous Austrian manufacturer J.T. Kalmar (Kalmar Franken), this sculptural light fixture features a chrome central core from which multiple arms radiate, each ending in a hand-blown clear glass globe. The interaction between the polished metal and the shiny glass creates a stunning "starburst" effect, casting sophisticated light throughout the interior. Condition. Very good condition: The chandelier is in excellent vintage condition. The chrome finish remains shiny and shows minimal signs of wear due to age.
