Small butter mould / Art Deco butter dish, made of chrome metal, manufactured in France, with a lovely round shape and a decorative border. A rare piece from the Coquillor brand. Rare and collectible, this small serving dish for butter consists of two parts: a base and an upper part that presses and moulds the butter into pretty rolls or decorative shells. Softened butter is placed in the lower part of the butter mould, and by pressing the grid, small decorative butter shapes are obtained. The butter must then be cooled in its dish before being served. To create curls or butter shapes, it is important to start with fresh, firm butter, left at room temperature for only a few minutes. It should be cold enough to hold its shape, but if it is too cold, the curls may break or come apart. It is possible to experiment with different types of butter moulds. Made of chrome metal and marked on the base Coquillor Made in France. This small butter mould can also be used as a cookie cutter for marzipan, shortbread, biscuits, etc. Dimensions: Width at the widest point: 11.2 cm / 4.4" Inner diameter: 6.2 cm / 2.4" Approximate height: 3.7 cm / 1.4" Weight: 116 grams. The dish is in good vintage condition, with signs of age and use. It has no dents or repairs. Nice old patina, with some small losses of silver plating revealing the brass in places. An original piece, with normal signs of age and wear.
