Stig Lindberg (1951) Filigran Vase for Gustavsberg Ceramics and Silver. The "Filigran" series by Stig Lindberg was designed in 1951, during the golden age of Swedish pottery. The artworks were made of stoneware, featuring clean shapes, matte white glazes, and geometric decorations. Stig Lindberg (1916-1982) is one of the most famous Scandinavian designers of the post-war era. He joined the Gustavsberg Studio in 1937, trained by Willhelm Kåge. He was appointed Kåge's successor in 1949 and became the artistic director of Gustavsberg himself. His work has been exhibited at the Swedish National Museum and has won numerous awards, including the gold medal and the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale. His designs from the 1950s and 1960s are the most sought after.
