Small walnut desk

Original walnut desk with wooden tambour curtain coordinated with the opening and closing of the lower drawer. Upper part; 3 small drawers topped with a baluster shelf. Central part composed of the solid wood curtain, 1 niche, 3 drawers and 1 red writing desk in leather braid frame. In the lower part, the opening of the drawer causes the curtain to rise and allows the writing desk to rest. The lock and key work. Fluted and carved spindle legs in the Louis XVI style, reinforced by a crosspiece. The drawers are mounted in dovetail. Beautiful quality desk, made in the 50's, in very good general condition. The wood shows some signs of use consistent with its period. The red velvet carpet is scratched and marked with traces of pens or other things.
