Authentic Persian rug hand-knotted from pure wool, from the Hamadan region (west of Iran), which encompasses hundreds of villages (Malayer, Nahavand, etc.), dating from the 1940s to the 1970s. Practical size, with a graphic and warm design. Ideal as a supplementary rug or decorative piece in vintage/bohemian-chic style. Traditional decor featuring a large central floral medallion in ivory on a brown-black background, with floral borders, brick-red corners, and tones of red/rust/black/brown/cream. Dimensions 148 × 103 cm. Estimated density of 90-160, 000 knots/m². Used condition (slightly low pile, worn edges). The central medallion represents the paradise garden, or the sun, the symbolic centre of the rug's universe, offering protection. The flowers and palmettes symbolise fertility and vital force, beauty, and the Persian garden (golestan or Paradise). The radiating stems from the medallion represent the tree of life and abundance. The border with scrolls signifies the continuous flow of life and eternity. Generally, the dark field is often associated with the earth or night, which makes the flowers stand out like stars. The red colour represents life/joy/protection, while ivory signifies purity.
