Mid-century coffee table in green marble and brass, 1960s

Beautiful, chic, mid-century, mid-century, france coffee table/cocktail table, with a green marble top on a brass frame, attributed to and reminiscent of the style of the parisian design house, maison jansen, circa the 1960s - early 70s. The rectangular gilded brass frame features an "h" shaped geometric pattern, combined with curved edges in the shape of the letter "u", which end in ornamental decoration (see photos.) The marble top is known as "guatemalan green", a "serpentine green" marble with a rich and deep color and white veins, used by many architects and interior designers for luxury projects, because of the beautiful overall effect it produces. This color, in contrast to the brilliant golden color of the frame, the decoration engraved at the top of the 4 sides of the elegantly fluted feet, as well as the ornamental decoration of the base and the toes, really make the glamour of this table, a piece of conversation out of competition. The piece remains in very good original and vintage condition, with some light markings, signs of age and previous use proportional to time, as well as a patina of time, on the general structure, top and legs (see photos.) ~ there are 3 slight marks (no chips) as well as some micro-scratches on the finished marble coating, (please see the photos next to a 1 cent coin, for perspective.) some areas of color slightly passed over the frame and feet (see photos.) The table is sturdy, heavy and solid. A fantastic and timeless piece that will blend perfectly with any vintage, mid-century, rustic, contemporary or hollywood regency décor.
