Crystal Art Deco vase from the early 1930s, made by the Moser manufactory in Karlovy Vary according to the design of Joseph Hoffmann, is a striking example of Czechoslovak craftsmanship of this period. It is made entirely of hand-cut, faceted crystal in a delicate, light purple shade with a cool tone. The mirrored surface, dynamically reflecting light, emphasizes the craftsmanship and architectural symmetry of the form – the body is flared, slightly narrowed towards the neck and decorated with vertical facets that lead the eye from the elegantly finished upper edge to the star motif on the base. Subtle transparency brings out the lightness from within, and the Moser signature guarantees the authenticity of origin and designer. The vase is in very good condition – no signs of wear, chips or repairs.
