E.Chouanard system drawing table

Drawing table / architect to system of the late 19th century. The tray is completely reclining and groutable from right to left thanks to two butterfly-adjustable slide systems. The central barrel-shaped foot contains a cremaillière, allowing height management.  The "x" foot has 4 wheels and two counterweights attached below.  The tray is rosewood, the barrel and foot are walnut.  A plaque on the top of the rack reads: "sun table system g. Gay patented sgdg, e. Chouanard, engineer only dealer". Very good general condition, all systems work.  Note that the tray had to have an articulated edge, currently there are only two parts of hinge (see photos). A bright microphone on the tray not visible on an overview. French work of the late 19th century, around 1870 by e. Chouanard, engineer and sole dealer for this "sun" table system. Size:  Weight: 14.2 kilograms. Height at highest: 119 centimetres. Lowest height: 76 centimetres. Plateau length: 90 centimetres  Plateau width: 50 centimetres  Foot length: 60 centimetres.
