Buffet Enfilade Charles DUDOUYT – Art Deco 1940 – Solid Oak & Checkerboard Top. Splendid sideboard from the 1940s, attributed to the famous designer Charles Dudouyt. This iconic piece of "Rustic Modernism" combines the strength of solid oak with the graphic elegance of French decorative arts from the post-war period. It is a centrepiece, ideal for a contemporary, vintage, or classic interior. Highlights & Details: Sculpted Front: The two side doors feature the iconic "diamond point" pattern, creating a unique architectural relief and beautiful shadow play. Exceptional Top: Rare finish with a checkerboard veneer (marquetry of oak squares) running the full length, adding an extra touch of finesse to the piece. Storage: The central section consists of 1 external drawer and a trompe l'oeil door with 3 drawers. The interior reveals a well-organised layout with an additional large drawer and shelves with marquetry edges (high-quality cabinetmaking). Original Hardware: Horizontal handles and metal lock entries (T-shaped), typical of the period. Dimensions: Length: 200 cm. Height: 97.5 cm. Depth: 52 cm. Condition: The piece is in excellent overall condition. The structure is perfectly sound and robust. Note some signs of use on the top (slight discolouration in places), which gives it an authentic patina. A simple cleaning or light waxing will restore its full shine.
