Old basket

This handmade basket has a deep rectangular shape with a lid that is attached to the base by rattan hinges. The strips are braided in straw, the structure and underside of the basket is made of wicker and wood, partially tinted in blue and white. Gold alloy metal opening. The arabic on the lid is made of wicker as well as the two handles. The basket is in excellent condition and certainly dates from the turn of the century. The creator of this beautiful basket certainly was inspired by the ancient napoleon III baskets. We used this basket son-in-law to look for eggs or chickens at the market. I used it as a handbag, it is really very chic, but also as a basket of work, sewing or for picks. Origin provence, unique piece. 28 cm long. Width 18 cm. Height 16 cm. Weight 0.350 kg.
