Old carved Dogon attic door – Mali – traditional lock

Magnificent ancient Dogon loft door from Mali, entirely hand-carved from solid wood. This authentic piece features a remarkable decoration of anthropomorphic figures and symbolic motifs related to protection, fertility, and ancestors, characteristic of traditional Dogon art. The original wooden lock is present and functional, as are the monoxyle hinges carved from the solid, elements particularly sought after by collectors of African art.
