Aluminor desk lamp, vintage, 70s

Aluminor articulated desk lamp in white color. Made in france in the 70s. It is made up of a white saucer-shaped bowl and offers soft, diffused light. It will be perfect in your work space but also as a bedside lamp. It is easily adjustable with its chrome rod slide system. A design icon of the 70s, adjustable, robust and airy, it fits perfectly with contemporary decor. Note some visible traces of use which underline its authenticity and give it a certain charm. It is in its juice and in working order. For the short story: the company, founded in 1950 in contes, specializes in the design, manufacturing and marketing of interior lighting. The manager at the time, andré lavigne, was at the origin of the creation of several desk lamps with to his credit, a few registered patents including one concerning an articulation hinge, still in use. Considered one of the last manufacturers of interior lighting in france, aluminor experienced a prosperous period, employing up to 80 employees. When the founder died in the 1980s, the company was taken over by his children who changed strategy, favoring imported products and abandoning the production tool. Society is losing its splendor. In 2018 in lyon, two partners richard barbett and vincent overney bought the company to breathe new life into it. “made in france” is an undeniable added value. In three years, aluminor shines again.
