Bedside sofa end revisited

I hunted for this simple little piece of furniture, made of solid wood, with its defects, with the idea of offering it a new life, because this life would probably have been denied to it as it was. Two or three chips on the tray, which I repaired with wood pulp and sanded. Then to hide them, I repainted the tray in a black color, and the same on the base. The contrast between the new paint and the rest of the furniture left raw with its marks and small defects was too great, so I chose to sand the black paint in a few places to reappear the wood underneath, and thus age a little these new parts. Then I passed matte colorless varnish on the entire furniture. But the new paint, was still too much, so I tried to pass a little varnish "light oak" matte, and the result suits me, there are now some slightly lighter traces here and there, the paint seems a little less recent. So here he is ready for a new life! Maybe at home! It will make a nice bedside or end of sofa. It is still solid, very stable, but does not hide all its small remaining defects: small holes plugged or not, marks, stains and various chips, 3 or 4 holes of beetles, old and non-active, which I still treated by acquired consciousness, by injection of household vinegar (this is my natural method to replace the chemical insecticide). It is 50.5 cm high, 34 cm wide, 26 cm deep and weighs about 5 or 6 kg.
