A striking cast brass candelabra of considerable sculptural presence, made in the 1960s and unmarked — which itself suggests it may be the work of a small artisan foundry or studio metalsmith rather than a mass manufacturer. The piece holds three candles and is cast from solid brass throughout, giving it a satisfying weight and density that speaks to the quality of its making. The design is boldly modernist in character, with strong affinities to the biomorphic sculptural design language associated with artists like Joan Miró and the broader mid-century European abstract tradition. Three curved arms sweep upward from a central stem, each terminating in a distinctive eye-shaped candle cup — a form that recurs throughout the piece and gives it a coherent visual identity. The base, visible in the underside photograph, shows the raw, slightly pitted texture characteristic of sand-cast brass — further evidence of small-batch or artisanal production. The overall surface has a warm, unpolished patina developed naturally over decades. The candelabra is in excellent vintage condition. Two very minor indentations are present but appear to have occurred during the casting or finishing process rather than through use or damage.
