Large blown glass suspension from Murano LS185 by Carlo Nason for Mazzega. Born in 1935 in Murano, Carlo Nason comes from a family of expert glassmakers. His father, Vincenzo Nason, actually ran the famous NasonMoretti company. Having been immersed in this environment from a young age, Carlo began designing mould-blown vases in 1959, which are now held in the Corning Museum of Glass in New York. Eager to venture out on his own, away from the family business, he was actually spotted by A.V. Mazzega (who published this suspension), another glass manufacturer who became famous, with whom he collaborated from 1965 to 1980 on a range of lamps and lighting fixtures. His creations are now part of numerous art and design galleries and museums in Paris, Milan, and New York. The indicated height is that of the suspension without the cable, which is adjustable in height. The mounting rose is white.
