“Sheaf Of Wheat” coffee table - Mcguire

20th century "sheaf of wheat" coffee table by mcguire, circa 1970, one of his most popular designs. The base is handcrafted from palasan bamboo rattan and has a natural rattan finish. The rattan stems are connected together in the middle by a heavy rattan braid in the shape of a sheaf of wheat, very typical of the work of the American designer. The upper surface is composed of a series of rattans sheared into different circular and oval sizes. This coffee table is both a work of art and a functional piece of furniture.
