Very rare set of 6 dutch design chairs, designed by designer rudolf wolf. These chairs come from the so-called meander series that rudolf wolf designed in the 60s. Produced at van gaasbeek & van tiel in the netherlands. The frames are made of metal and painted entirely black, striking that the width between the front and rear legs differ from each other. They have been completely re-upholstered with a combination of two exclusive and high-quality upholstery fabrics. Rudolf wolf was one of the most important industrial designers from the netherlands and started early with a total design, everything had to be right was the credo, from packaging and advertising to aftersales. After a short period at various firms specialized in architecture, he starts his own company. The focus is in the mid-50s on designing furniture for various manufacturers, in the early 60s he is also asked as the in-house designer of the batavus bicycle factory, in order to be able to shape various mopeds. Already in 1955 he designs a very ingenious design for the company elsrijk that is put together in a special way by means of special welding, creating a very stable base with minimal lines. This set, consisting of 6 chairs type alpha, has surfaced in early 2022 and restored in terms of upholstery, the frames have been left completely original, and are in neat vintage condition, with appropriate minimum patina. Fabric handrail: Amenesia color 51. Session: camel leather. Height: 72 cm. Seat height: 43.5 cm. Width: 60 cm. Seat width: 49 cm. Depth: 57 cm. Seat depth: 44.5 cm.
