A pair of handmade brutalist metal candle holders in a tribal style, depicting women. Made from welded steel with a beautiful raw and organic finish, each figure celebrates the texture, movement, and craftsmanship of forged metal. The figures are designed to be displayed together or separately and can be placed in various poses and configurations. One holds two candle trays in her hands, while the other has a candle holder near her knee. Their elongated shapes and expressive silhouettes create a dramatic sculptural presence, even when not in use. The women are dressed in a tribal style with twisted metal chains, ankle bracelets, bangles, and large knife-shaped earrings as their only decorations. Their faces have a mask-like character. Inspired by the brutalist studio metal movement of the 1960s and 70s, these sculptural candle holders blur the line between functional object and work of art. Perfect as a centrepiece on your table, fireplace, or even altar. Figure A: 73cm X 23cm X 29cm. Figure B: 66cm X 26cm X 33cm. 1.5kg. Details: Handmade welded metal construction. Brutalist / mid-century studio art style. Two separate figures. Multiple possible configurations. Beautiful patina and artisanal look. Found in Leiden, Netherlands.
