Very rare victorian butter dish with original glass insert and lid, first quality a1 made by william hutton and son, marked on the bottom with the mark used in 1864-c.1870 and numbered 22985. Extremely rare with glass insert of original in excellent condition, marked epns a1 and hard soldered. Can also be used for cheese or as a sardine tin. Very elegant piece, made of glass and a rectangular silver lid with a silver dish. This very elegant antique lidded dish could also be used as a cheese dish, jam pot, for condiments, sardine tin and for its beauty presentation. Perfect wedding gift for a lover of english tableware. Measurements: height: 2.3"/ 6 cm length: 5.1"/ 13 cm length with handles 7.6"/ 19.5 cm wide: 4.3"/ 11 cm glass dish only: depth 1.5 "/ 4 cm weight: 816 grams. Condition: good condition for its age. Glass without damage, silver plated without damage. Since my items are vintage, that means they are aged and will have some wear.
