This terracotta print, in the typical art-deco style of the early twentieth century, represents the bust of a young girl. The artist, j.c. Guéro (active around 1920), whose signature is affixed to the base of the neck, knew how to create a figure imbued with mysteries. The gaze, enigmatic, goes to the right side. The lips are frozen in a neutral expression. The curls of her hair frame her face, and fall gracefully on her slender neck. The whole rests on a cubic base in dark wood that voluntarily contrasts with the rest of the sculpture. We will appreciate the innocence released by this little girl, inspiration of a resolutely simple and pure work. ******** Period: early twentieth century. Very good condition, slight marks on the back of the wooden base, see photo. Size: Maximum length: 20 cm. Maximum height: 38.5 cm. Weight: 1 kg. Ref: 423 s.
