Descamps sheet in mixed race with Venice day ☐ 240 x 340 cm

Metis sheet - linen and cotton - in light beige color from the French manufacturer Descamps, rectangular in shape, with a Venice day border on the upper part. In perfect condition since we acquired a batch of old but new sheets, we still gave them to the dry cleaners to clean them. They will find their place in your bedroom and will bring additional comfort to your nights thanks to the thick weave of the fabric. You can also use it as a tablecloth or as a base fabric for sewing your curtains. Like any new mongrel, you will need to leave this sheet in clear water for a day before you can use it. This step is necessary to remove the starch and soften the fabric. So-called “jour embroidery” is one of the oldest and most elegant skills. The most widespread is the venice day finish which, with its “barrettes”, carefully highlights the facings of pillowcases and high-end bed sheets. Venice day is so named because, from the 15th century, Venetian embroiderers were specialists in it. This know-how was then exported and developed in France from the 17th century, inspiring French luxury.
