1930's Modernist Table Lamp

Around the 1930’s artists and architects were inspired by the culture of the far east. On this lamp we can find that influence as well. The steel lampshade shape is reminiscent of the traditional chinese hat. The ‘c’ shaped steel bar connect the lampshade (which can be slightly adjustable) with the wooden base painted in dark brown colour and with the bakelite on/off switch. The lamp shade shows natural wear to the chromed steel. The chrome is slightly worn but the piece has acquired a great patina instead. The lampshade interior was painted white for better light reflection; this surface shows some small scratches and marks. Overall, this table lamp is in great vintage condition and is fully functional. There are no dents on the steel parts, only slight signs of natural wear and tear according to their age. The lamp have been recently rewired according to the original design.
